The current situation between Japan and China is a peaceful one. They are both separate countries and both among the top economic world leaders. The massacre ended in 1938 with the last of the refugee camps closing in that year. With World War II starting just after the Nanjing massacre Japan turned it’s focus elsewhere. They bombed Pearl Harbor n December 7, 1941 and were then attacked by the United States. After surrendering to the U.S., Japan became demilitarized and will be protected by America. Americans were glad the Japanese surrendered but wanted more. In The making of the Rape of Nanking, the author says that Americans felt that, “The Japanese were natural war mongers; and the Japanese must be punished severely” (Yoshida).This exact genocide will not happen again as Japan is demilitarized and both China and Japan have more priorities in industrialization and economics.

The song Peace on Earth shows the peacefulness today of Japan as they are demilitarized and that the relationship between Japan and China is peaceful.
